The surroundings

Between Maas and Waal, in the Bommelerwaard

Molenhuis Zuilichem is located in a quiet village on the Waal. From the dike you can cycle and walk straight into the river landscape, and Zaltbommel and Gorinchem are just around the corner.

Zuilichem, a village along the river

Zuilichem is a quiet village in the municipality of Zaltbommel, developed along the Waal.

The village was already mentioned in 1143, then as Solekeim. In 1630, Constantijn Huygens purchased the lordship and title of Zuilichem.

Directly on the floodplains is the nature reserve De Breemwaard: about 130 hectares of peace and space along the river.

Going out together

Visit Loevestein Castle
